Complaints Procedure
At ABN Solicitors, we pride ourselves on our professional service. We take complaints seriously and will respond promptly to any concerns regarding our services or company.
If you feel that we have failed to meet agreed standards or your needs, we encourage you to inform us at the earliest opportunity.
Step One

Step Two
Within 10 working days, we will acknowledge your complaint and confirm the next steps.
Step Three
The matter will be investigated within 10 working days of acknowledging receipt. If more time is needed, we will inform you with a revised timeframe.
Following the investigation, we will invite you to discuss the issue via a meeting or call. We will confirm our response within 10 working days of this discussion.
If a meeting is not required, we will provide a detailed written response within 21 working days of acknowledging your complaint.
Step Four
If you remain unsatisfied, you may request a review. Another legal professional may be involved in reassessing the decision.
We will provide our final position within 21 days of your request.
Step Five (Other Avenues)
You must first attempt to resolve the complaint with us. If the issue remains unresolved after eight weeks, you may contact the Legal Ombudsman.
If your complaint concerns our fees, you may apply to the Court for assessment under Part 3 of the Solicitors Act 1974.
The Legal Ombudsman
You may refer complaints about our work, fees, or service to the Legal Ombudsman, subject to time limits:
- Within six months of receiving our final response.
- Within one year of the act or omission being complained about.
- Within one year of when you became aware of the grounds for complaint.

Solicitors Regulation Authority
If you believe a solicitor has acted dishonestly or unethically, you may report them to the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).
The SRA does not handle poor service complaints; these should be directed to the Legal Ombudsman.
